Point Dume Malibu Filming Location

Point Dume has many stunning locations, and you're welcome to use the studio as a basecamp and tour the neighborhood on the Dume Studios golf cart!  The Sunset Restaurant and Bar is a short walk down the hill, right on the beach where Westward and Zuma beaches meet.  It's a beautiful location and is hosting beach weddings every weekend day during the summer.  Also in golf cart range are the cliff at Big Dume (where the closing shot of Planet of the Apes was filmed), which is a popular rock climbing spot, the Big Dume State Park (the location of Tony Stark's mansion in Iron Man), the Point Dume School which has a large athletic field and playground, and a ton of interesting locations and props ranging from surf to country western themes.  There is a full size grocery store, Subway, Starbucks and other restaurants within golf cart range.

If you want to get in your car, we are 10 minutes from some of the most interesting and beautiful locations in LA.  If you head north, you'll be in the mountains with breathtaking views of the ocean and city.  Up there you'll find state parks, vineyards, wineries, Paramount Ranch, Lake Malibu (Malibou), Lake Sherwood and much more.  Leo Carrillo State Beach, with its rocky cliffs and amazing beach, is immediately to the north.  To the south is world famous downtown Malibu and Pepperdine University.

Point Dume, known as the "Malibu Riviera" is one of the most amazing places in the United States.  Its residents are a testament to its beauty; Julia Roberts, Martin Sheen, Sean Penn (who married Madonna here), Anthony Hopkins, Aaron Eckhart, Kid Rock, Barbara Streisand, Pink, Matthew McConaughey, Anthony Kiedis,  and Emilio Estevez call it home, as did Johnny Carson until he passed away.  Bob Dylan owns the property a few houses to the south where he has several horses and a riding arena.

Dume Studios' location is very close to many popular production locations, including Santa Monica, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Ventura County, Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, Agora Hills, Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, Woodland Hills, Chatsworth and Calabasas. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the Burbank Airport (BUR) are both less than an hour away, and the Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) is just over an hour.
